Fetzer Vineyards supports the Rails to Trails Conservancy.
The mission of Rails-to-Trails Conservancy is to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors to build healthier places for healthier people.
Fetzer Cycling has been invited to join the Fetzer Vineyards brand team in the Rails to Trails Sojourn.
The 7th Greenway Sojourn, July 22-26, 2009, will lead 250 cyclists on a ride through one of Pennsylvania's most spectacular natural areas, the Pine Creek Gorge.
The route will focus on the 64-mile Pine Creek Rail Trail, which parallels the creek through the heart of the Pine Creek Gorge. The rail-trail follows the path of a 19th century railroad that hauled lumber out from the valley.
A 2001 article in USA Today named the Pine Creek Rail Trail one of "10 great places to take a bike tour" in the world. Now in 2009, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy offers you and your family the opportunity to join us on a four-day adventure through this amazing natural area.
Show your support for Rails for Trails and receive a cool T-shirt by donating to a great cause at the same time. One hundred percent of your donation in the participant’s honor will go toward the important work of building and advocating for trails in Pennsylvania.
Plus...with a gift of $50 or more, you will receive this Rails-to-Trails Conservancy t-shirt.
Fetzer Cycling members riding the Sojourn include: Larry Stickler, Vic Maddox and Jim Whaley.
